How Two Dogs Started Selling Collectibles Online (And Why They’re Better At It Than Me)

I’m Matt, I live up in Northern California — and technically, I run a collectibles shop.

But if you ask Mac and Diesel, they’d tell you it’s their business… and honestly, they might not be wrong.

Mac (the golden retriever) is 4 years old and has been in management since day one. Diesel (the bull mastiff) is 2 and… well… he’s more of a “security and snack quality control specialist.”

I’ve had both of them since they were puppies, and somewhere along the way, this whole thing turned into a business.

The Real Reason This Shop Exists

Let’s be honest — this started for one reason:

Treats. A lot of treats.

Mac believes every successful sale should result in a snack bonus. Diesel believes existing should result in a snack bonus. So naturally, we had to find a way to fund this lifestyle.

That’s where collectibles came in.

From Hobby to “Business”

I’ve always been into collectibles — rare finds, unique items, stuff you don’t see every day.

At some point, I figured:“Why not start listing some of this online?”

Mac immediately approved.Diesel was asleep, but I’m sure he supported it spiritually.

Now we’ve got a growing online shop where we list collectibles for sale, and every item has passed at least one of the following tests:

  • Sniff test (Mac approved)

  • Drool resistance test (Diesel tested, unfortunately)

  • “Would this buy more treats?” test (critical)

How the Dogs “Help” Run the Shop

Mac’s responsibilities:

  • Oversees inventory (by staring at it)

  • Greets customers (by wagging at the door)

  • Looks extremely photogenic (very important for marketing)

Diesel’s responsibilities:

  • Security (no one is stealing anything, ever)

  • Product durability testing (accidental but thorough)

  • Emotional support (mostly for himself)

Life in Northern California

Running this whole operation out of Northern California means a lot of:

  • Sunlight

  • Open space

  • Dogs living their absolute best life

Which also means:

  • More energy

  • More chaos

  • More reasons to need… more treats

Why This Shop Is Different

There are a lot of places to buy collectibles online.

But not many are:

  • Approved by a golden retriever

  • Guarded by a bull mastiff

  • Fueled entirely by snacks and questionable decision-making

Every item we list is something we’d actually want to keep (which is a problem), and something we think someone else will genuinely love.

Check Out What We’re Selling

If you’re into:

  • Rare collectibles

  • Unique finds

  • Stuff you don’t normally see

Take a look at what Mac and Diesel have “approved” lately.

Final Thoughts (From the Dogs)

Mac says:“10/10 would sell collectibles again.”

Diesel says:“I do not understand what is happening, but I support it.”
